Advanced CFR Instructor Courses
#1
Hi,

I'm just wondering if anyone knows the details on how to become an advanced cardiac first response instructor. Is there any training sites that run courses or is there any requirements in order to do it.

I have my CFR community instructor cert but would like to become an advanced instructor.

Many Thanks

The first and most important criteria is that you are at Practitioner level on The PHECC register.
CFR-A is designed for those who will regularly use the skills and equipment required for a patient in cardiac arrest so the instructor should be competent and confident at that level.
We trained hard ... but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up into teams we would be reorganized. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganizing; and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress while producing confusion, inefficiency, and demoralization.

I'm a registered EMT. I completed my community CFR instructor because I'm in the process of setting up a CFR group. However I would like to advance myself further and be an advanced instructor

Unless you're teaching for a recognised institution its going to be a hard process. CFR-A is usually reserved for the vols or statutory agencies. If you're a member of either it might be the easiest pathway ?

I know its an old post , CFRa instructor is normally reserved for EMTS due to the knowledge with the skills.
There is some private companies that run the CFRA instructor though most people who use it are with statutary or voluntaries for teaching their staff and members.
CFR groups only respond to community level so cfra instructor may be a waste (my words) as you may not be able to do your required 4 courses to keep your registration.
