Its that time of year again, when we are getting ready for Christmas, family and Santa. Sadly not everyone will be looking forward with anticipation, instead simple hoping for food, warmth or a small present. Thankfully there are goups like 'Little Blue Heroes' and 'Barnados' out there. Both help the youngest and most vulnerable in society and this Christmas we ask that you join us in making a donation at https://www.littleblueheroes.org/donate/ or https://www.barnardos.ie/christmas

The Tie is Gone!

Only one I remember was the uniform we ended up with with the worst high visibility ever

Don't remember that. Wasn't 2002 when they went with the new patrol jacket?

Re the shirts without tie, perhaps the GS could take a leaf out of the NS book. The White shirt with tie is a different garment to the white shirt without tie, and the without tie has the collars ironed flat.
Looks quite smart and practical.

That's more or less what we have. Blues as AGS with tie for formal occasions/parade and then the wide collar shirts as workwear/station wear.
We are the willing, led by the unknowning, doing the impossible, for the ungrateful.

I wonder if you cut off the collar of the t-shirt and just wore that under would it work? You might have to keep the arms actually to make sure it doesn't ride up. It would be like a crop top...

Our super that is what they will go for in the end. Have feeling that the time has come where the policing authority are looking at the job and asking why are you behind other police forces.

Also they plan on issuing mini iPads to members

I'm sure anyone looking in at AGS must wonder how it's still stuck in the 1950's when the world has moved on. Anyone with an ounce of sense in the organisation has nothing to fear from outside scrutiny.
We trained hard ... but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up into teams we would be reorganized. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganizing; and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress while producing confusion, inefficiency, and demoralization.

You mean a variation on this?
The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are filled with doubts while the stupid people are full of confidence...

That's it exactly, jaysus doesn't look too bad lads. String vest and all, would be great for the really hot days. Not too sure about the string knickers though, wouldn't be able to fully isolate the stray skid mark.

I'll need a new belt pouch to carry my tie for when I need to go to court with prisoners.

IMHO its the high vis that looks unprofessional in the picture. Trousers being too long for the majority of mules doesnt help but the lad thats not wearing the high vis looks grand. A bit smart actually, albeit from an angle

I'd say they're the final selection.

Yea the crest doesn't look like it would last long. I wonder about the merits of 'dual language' on them if they are going to have the items stensiled anyway.

Given the growing diversity of the country & large tourist footfall it might be the time to add it in.

Yup agreed, the Welsh forces have Heddlu/Police.

On related note, any news regarding the trousers?
