Its that time of year again, when we are getting ready for Christmas, family and Santa. Sadly not everyone will be looking forward with anticipation, instead simple hoping for food, warmth or a small present. Thankfully there are goups like 'Little Blue Heroes' and 'Barnados' out there. Both help the youngest and most vulnerable in society and this Christmas we ask that you join us in making a donation at https://www.littleblueheroes.org/donate/ or https://www.barnardos.ie/christmas

I saw order of malta ones during paddys day last year. No lights and sirens but looked handy for nipping about the place responding to calls considering half the roads in the city were closed

I take it you mean the C&C van's?

If so, they are mobile control rooms. They have analogue and Tetra radio systems on board, a downlink system for when AS2/3 are operating with them. They are deployed to concerts, protests, on going searches. They allow the brass to have an area where they can have meetings/plan/supervise an activity that is taking place. There are four of the Sprinter type and one Fiat type.

Tis gas seeing the pictures of the 2.8 Granada's.

AGS used the 2.8 Granada's alot in years gone by and senior lads in the station in Dublin used to always talk with great fondness about them.

Some great stories.

WT,
In saying all that, what would happen if a MOP saw a crime happening & spotted the CNC or any of the other non home office forces in the UK ie MoDP, BTP, Parks Constabulries etc. Would they have a duty to act or just say sorry we're not authorised outside our area so call the local force?. All MOP's will see is a police vehicle really or uniformed officers.

I would imagine that they could intervene in the same way members of the public can.
