Its that time of year again, when we are getting ready for Christmas, family and Santa. Sadly not everyone will be looking forward with anticipation, instead simple hoping for food, warmth or a small present. Thankfully there are goups like 'Little Blue Heroes' and 'Barnados' out there. Both help the youngest and most vulnerable in society and this Christmas we ask that you join us in making a donation at https://www.littleblueheroes.org/donate/ or https://www.barnardos.ie/christmas

It's a given that they put you up and feed you in the college. We got something like €193.64 in the college and I think It went up at some stage to €204ish. There was no uniform or boot allowance in the college

If they get 100 per intake and 4 intakes a year, id be happy with that.

Does the whole new regime mean the tutor guard system is obsolete or will lads get updated training considering all new arrivals will be more like old Phase 4s rather than students?

If its a new system then I assume we will have to be updated. I assume they will just pick afew per station and train them. A lot of us who have the Tutor course done could be in specialist units/promoted etc

I'm a tutor guard and if I have to supervise a probationer then I think my pay should reflect this. Of course I may think what I like cause I know I won't get it.

Is there no mention about "special" points for been a Reserve Garda. And while I'm ranting ,what about the rent allowance, are new members getting this...or not..

As regards, Templemore,...any full timer I've worked with , wasn't over complementary about the quality of training, reckon all they should have been taught was police self defence and the law..

Regarding languages it is as follows

You need two. One must been English OR Irish and a second can be a foreign language.

Must be at pass levels but they saying they accept foundation Irish just apply anyway and they will test your language skills at interview.

The donkeys answering the calls earlier had it wrong I ate them and said how the fuck do you expect a non national to apply and explained it but there was a few giving out wrong info all day
It's not stalking until you get caught with your pants down...
