DRUG RAID Man and woman quizzed after Gardai raid house in Neilstown, Co Dublin, and seize nearly €1.7 million worth of heroin

COPS are tonight quzzing a man and a woman following the seizure of heroin worth nearly €1.7 million and various quantities of other drugs.

Officers from the Lucan District Drug Unit, assisted by gardai from Ronanstown, raided a house on Neilstown at approximately 5pm.

During the course of a search they found heroin with an estimated street value of €1.68 million.

They also discovered Diazepam and Xanax tablets worth up to €150,000 and cannabis herb valued at up to €10,000.

All the drugs are subject to analysis.

Gardai arrested a man in his 50s and a woman in her 40s at the scene.

The pair are being held tonight at garda stations in west Dublin under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Traffic) Act 1996.
