Its that time of year again, when we are getting ready for Christmas, family and Santa. Sadly not everyone will be looking forward with anticipation, instead simple hoping for food, warmth or a small present. Thankfully there are goups like 'Little Blue Heroes' and 'Barnados' out there. Both help the youngest and most vulnerable in society and this Christmas we ask that you join us in making a donation at https://www.littleblueheroes.org/donate/ or https://www.barnardos.ie/christmas

Tottenham Riots

Fairly incredible footage on TV of the riots in London. Hard to know where the Met caught out by the violence or delibrately didn't engage with the rooters. Either way the damage to property by fires and looting seems huge.

London Fire Brigade received a total of 260 '999' calls and fought 50 fires
3 police cars , 1 double Decker bus and numerous buildings and shops set on fire
26 police in hospital mostly serious injuries
42 people arrested and numerous people homeless

From London Ambulance Service - Our staff treated 11 people, and took 10 of them to hospital, following the disturbances in Tottenham overnight.

and threats of more to come tonight :/

Very tough conditions for all the ES involved, the LAS worked under very difficult conditions there last night. I think the LFB weren't allowed in to deal with very much until things calmed down, and there were plenty of new car parks created by that stage.
Strange that they didn't deploy a few aerials there today when it was secured, looking at the footage this morning, they were wasting their time trying to damp down without one.

they had to call in police from outside the metropolitan police and outside london to help

I can't stand how the criminal element use any excuse to ruin a peaceful protest and go out there to wreak havoc. Do they wake up the following morning feeling satisfied that they destroyed the very place they live in?

Here's hoping the CCTV footage was excellent and that every man/woman and juvenile involved gets lifted.

Cannot understand it either.. "So Called peaceful protest to start with" after the police shooting on thursday night. this is my take on this officer got shot at, hit his radio, returned fire killed the Armed subject. sounds like perfect shoot to me. Members of community have being saying police don't treat them right with increase stop and search on them. I think last night proved there right to stop and search this element

Well done to all ES members and good luck tonight cause its going to be long night tonight for them

Yeah, have to agree. If last nights performance was anything to go on, the Police haven't been stopping them half often enough. Talk about shitting on your own doorstep, what kind of arseholes rip up their own community??
There will presumably every type of social commentator and bleeding liberal types appearing on Sky News shortly, who will blame all this on the police.

Yes, just doing a bit of digging and out the background of this shooting. a taxi was stop with mark duggan in a operation jointly ran by officers from operation trident and CO19. So it wasn't random stop.... i don't understand the reason for the protest to begin with he was armed and shot at police...got shot

Genius if its a semi auto, the fabric can stop the gun recocking/firing, by getting stuck in the slide.
(May not have had a chance at a second shot anyway!)

Heard some ex Riot Squad officer on Sky News saying that water cannon is not an approved tactic on the "mainland" and that the nearest available cannon would be from the PSNI. Seems incredible that water cannon wouldn't be available , considering the amount of protests etc in London over the years.

Remember that Green Goddesses were used at the Strangeways riot to "cool down" the rooftop protesters (oh wait, they dont have any of them left)

No, and the mad thing was, they had a load of the Green Goddesses that had been done to Northern Ireland spec ( yellow paint and mesh covers for windscreens ) available til last year but sold them off for £800 each.
Not sure would they work as water cannon but was thinking they would be suitable vehicles to deploy for firefighting at or near a riot where you don't want to loose £250k of modern kit to some gougers.

Well done to all the London Services last night in very difficult circumstances, hopefully all those injured make a full recovery.
Looking at the various riots in London over the past few years it appears that senior commanders are more worried about their image that confronting a serious situations that if handled with a bit more muscle the trouble would have been nipped in the bud before any officers would have been injured.
Where there is no guidance, a nation falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety (Proverbs 11:14)
For by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory (Proverbs 24:6)

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rapidly promoted by mainstream media & incomptent managers, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a piece of excrement by the clean end
