Ive done this, took a Dennis through floods up to the windscreen.
(not driving, as OiC) keep the revs up and it works.

Needed to use the spotlight out the window so driver could see the way (was dark).

To be honest you got lucky probably, wouldn't be trying that one too often.

The appliance in the first video is specially fitted with a snorkel and sealed electronics apparently. I'm betting your Dennis isn't.

The bow wave effect will only get you so far.
