Its that time of year again, when we are getting ready for Christmas, family and Santa. Sadly not everyone will be looking forward with anticipation, instead simple hoping for food, warmth or a small present. Thankfully there are goups like 'Little Blue Heroes' and 'Barnados' out there. Both help the youngest and most vulnerable in society and this Christmas we ask that you join us in making a donation at https://www.littleblueheroes.org/donate/ or https://www.barnardos.ie/christmas

Gerry O'Carroll was hired by the Evening Herald as a commentator on the crime situation in the city/country as he finds it.... As a commentator on crime - He is second to none having retired as a High Ranking member of the Gardai, But tonight I saw his column devoted to the alleged Keating Affair thing thats going on....Whats the Reasoning behind this..... Any Comments.....Gerry O'Carroll - Social Commentator.......

To be honest i've a pain in my hole listening to him on the radio and tv.

I think it was the Late late Show i seen him on again recently. Every interview is the same shite over and over again. Obviously, I have no idea about the quality of info he provides but at this stage he has just become one of the regulars along with Paul Williams when the media want a so called expert on crime.

I've listened to one or two interviews from retired Detective Inspector Brian sherry and always found his comments much more measured and less tabloid.

I cant listen to O Carroll either . . . .Williams is just as bad.

Brian Sherry was the DI when I was in the K District and the odd case I had that was decent he helped out with . . .a gent and was very capable. Everyone had respect for him as I recall.

O'Carroll is just a columnist. He will talk about whatever is in the news. Not a fan of his.
