Its that time of year again, when we are getting ready for Christmas, family and Santa. Sadly not everyone will be looking forward with anticipation, instead simple hoping for food, warmth or a small present. Thankfully there are goups like 'Little Blue Heroes' and 'Barnados' out there. Both help the youngest and most vulnerable in society and this Christmas we ask that you join us in making a donation at https://www.littleblueheroes.org/donate/ or https://www.barnardos.ie/christmas

Is there anyway to personalise the theme? Not liking the new look/format on my phone.

Yes you can go into the user cp and then into edit options and on the bottom right you'll see board style is set to default, however if you change theme at the moment you will see the old theme does't show the circle on the left showing it there is a new post in a thread. We still have bugs that ain't sorted out right now.

Rather than piss off tech support I'll add it here, the old system used to show the thread title in each post. Is that available in the new one? Handy when going through multiple threads using the 'next thread' option.

the original theme has now been restored fully. You can select it through options in your user panel or be utilising the drop down menu at the bottom of every page by changing 'default' to 'original'

Guys, unfortunately as the original theme was not designed for the new software we are finding it difficult to correct these issues. Its on the list, could be tomorrow or could be next month.

Thats the best I have for now but I would urge you to try the new theme as he have amended it slightly since you last used it.

Another bug with the "Original" theme.  The sceditor toolbar doesn't appear either on quick reply, new reply or new thread.  It seems to appear OK on all areas using the "Default" theme.

Hadn't noticed it before because I've been using Tapatalk a lot.  I've checked it on both IE9 and Chrome 39 on Windows Vista and the same bug exists.  Also Chrome on Ubuntu.

OK, I thought that the "original" theme was the preferred one for the site.

I'll probably have to leave it on "default" so.

True, there is an Ubuntu political party in South Africa and the word has it's origins there....

Ubuntu is a common version of the opensource operating system Linux.  It is an alternative to M$ Windows or to Apple's OSX.  It allows you to run your PC.  It is totally free and comes with loads of free software.  Practically every application you find on Windows will have a free version that will run on Linux.  The Android phone operating system is based on it.  The concept behind open source software is that the code is freely available for others to inspect and to change.  So it generally means that programmes are secure and don't contain hidden back doors left there by software developers.  Also the software does what the users want and if someone doesn't like a particular feature they are free to rewrite the original programme the way they want it and create a fork project.  So there is constant development.

My laptop dual-boots so when I switch it on I have the option of starting either Windows or Ubuntu.

Ubuntu is pretty snazzy.  It loads quick, looks well and has pretty features like 3D cube desktop so I can work on different screens at the same time and switch from one to another by spinning a 3D cube on my screen.

This isn't my PC but you can see the type of eye candy you can get.....

Also, the 'default' theme has a facility at the bottom of the change to switch themes from 'default' to 'original'.  So I could write my posts in 'default' and then switch to 'original'.  But the 'original' theme doesn't have this so I can't switch back if I wanted to write a post.

I can go from 'default' to 'original' but I can't switch back.  Would be a work-around to keep viewing the site in 'original' but still have the toolbar when writing posts.

Like I said, the original theme was designed for not just the old software but the old old software so at this its just not compatible with the newer features.
