PHECC Assistant Tutor Course - some advice needed?
#1
As is says in the title, I am thinking of doing a PHECC AT course but not sure which route to take (privately or wait until Vol Org offers it), also is worth the time commitment and money?

PM me if needed.

Will you make money out of it ? Not enough to make it worth your while would be my opinion. Private EMT course numbers are way down and it looks like staying that way. Couple that with having to get your own teaching experience to finish your qualification and it's a real PITA.
IMHO I'd wait until your Vol Org offers it. That way you know you'll get it finished and it wont cost you any money.
We trained hard ... but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up into teams we would be reorganized. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganizing; and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress while producing confusion, inefficiency, and demoralization.

And with the whole new teaching standards argument, if adopted by PHECC, the AT grade won't be worth the paper it's printed on for new entrants.
